Our Program

The Initial Assessment

The initial assessment is performed once at the beginning of the program. During this step we survey the play area and assess its overall condition. This information is used to determine the cost and scope for the “Tune Up”.

Surfacing:

  • Note the type and condition
  • Check average depth to comply with safety requirements

Play Equipment:

  • Graph, layout and photography of area
  • Identify components and evaluate condition
  • Complete the “Play Area Survey” with owner

Safety Evaluation:

  • Adequate usage zones between play equipment and other objects
  • Over-exposed or dangerous hardware
  • Entrapment spaces
  • Sharp points or edges
  • Tripping hazards
  • Guardrails for elevated surfaces

Tune-Up

The tune-up should be done one to three times a year depending on use and condition. At this time we check the entire play area for safety hazards and perform routine maintenance. We will customize the “Tune-Up” to your requirements and those of the manufacturer. The following is an overview of the services performed in this step.

Play Equipment:

  • Check for broken and/or missing components
  • Check all fastners/hardware, tighten when necessary
  • Replace missing hardware (if available)
  • Visually inspect metal components for cracks and breakage
  • Repair minor scratches, rust and sharp edges
  • Inspect vinyl-coated decks for damage, repair minor damage with touch-up
  • Remove minor burrs and sharp edges on metal and plastic
  • Inspect “S” hooks for gaps, close if necessary
  • Remove debris from play equipment
  • Issue a report to the owner

Surfacing:

  • Check depth
  • Redistribute in low areas
  • Recommend to owner if any addition or repair is needed

The Scheduled Inspection

This periodic inspection is recommended between “Tune-Ups”. For play areas that only require a “tune-up” once a year, the inspection can assure you of the safety of the play area throughout the year. During this step we will visually sinspect the entire area in addition to clean and distribute the surface material when needed.
